Owned and operated by three generations of the Grose family, Vivian Plantation has been in operation since 1947. During this time, twenty acres of sandy, otherwise non-arable land, have been reclaimed. Presently, 30 acres of the property are devoted to wooded area.
During our 76 years of operation, more than 60,000 trees have been harvested. Initially trees were sold wholesale. However, in 1965, the Grose family added the "harvest your own" programme. Customers may select and harvest their own trees, or choose from a variety of pre-harvested trees. Either way, the same great experience in the country is enjoyed by all.
Be our guest!
Christmas memories start with the tree, but no Christmas tree outing would be complete without hot apple cider and the chance to warm yourself by the fire.
Bring the entire family. We welcome the four-footed members, and ask that they remain on leash at all times. This will ensure that everyone who comes to the plantation can enjoy their visit.
We have tables throughout the plantation. Bring your lunch and enjoy a winter picnic in our woodland setting.
As you warm yourselves beside the log fires, roasting marshmallows and sipping hot chocolate or spiced apple cider, the staff will shake any loose needles from your tree, bale it and help you carry it to your vehicle. Twine is available for you to use to tie your tree on top of your car if needed. A tree bag is also included – and all of this at no extra charge.
Don’t forget to make a stop to snap a family photo at our self-portrait location to preserve the memory of your outing to Vivian Plantation.
